First F1 race on Interlagos was on 1973, won by Emerson Fittipaldi who start from the second place on grid. He won the 2nd race in 1974.

Mika Hakkinen won the race in 1993 and 1994 while Juan Pablo Montoya won it in 2004 and 2005. The only driver who won 2 races but not consecutive on Interlagos is Ayrton Senna, 1991 and 1993. In 1992 he retire after 17 laps.

Michael Schumacher won the race consecutive in 1994 and 1995. The other victories are in 2000 and 2002
